Welcome to the Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps Bunny Hop!

This is my first time to participate in Operation Write Home's Stars and Stamps Bunny Hop.  I'm a little nervous and excited all at the same time..lol.

First, I want to tell you about Operation Write Home (OWH).  It is an awesome organization that supports our Armed Forces by sending them blank handmade greeting cards which they use to write home to family and friends.  Where do they get these handmade greeting cards? Volunteer cardmakers all over the United States, and even other countries, make them and send them to one of OWH's shippers. All types of cardmakers participate, from beginning to advanced, and they can send only a few cards at a time or boxes full of them!! There are deadlines for certain holidays, but you can also send all-occasion cards at any time. Upcoming holiday deadlines are Easter - March 18th, and Mother’s Day - March 31st. Please check out the guidelines as well...some are very important for the safety of our heroes (i.e. no glitter).

If you live in the Shreveport/Bossier area, please consider joining me next Wednesday to make cards for OWH. This is something I want to do on a monthly basis, so if your up to the task and would like to participate please send me a note to scrappinheaven@yahoo.com. I figure there have to be a few military wives and families over at Barksdale AFB that would love to join in. So please help me spread the word :-)

Now, on to the card I made for the hop:
Stampin' Up! products:
So Saffron Cardstock
Whisper White Cardstock
Presto Patterns Specialty DSP
Eastern Blooms Stamp Set
Oval All Stamp Set
Melon Mambo Stampin' Write Marker
Old Olive Stampin' Write Marker
Homemade Glimmer Spray (Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo)
Scallop Oval Extra Large punch
1 3/4" x 7/8" Oval Large punch
Floral Frenzy Classy Brass Embossing template (retired)

Non SU products:
White 7/8" wired satin ribbon (non-SU)
Stickles - Cotton Candy

Now on to the fun stuff, I know you've been waiting :-)
I will be giving away this retired Stampin' Up! set, Wonderful Woodcuts, to one lucky winner on Monday, March 7th @ 5pm CST!

To win please leave a comment answering the following question...What is your favorite Sale-A-Bration set?  Also, please consider following my blog using your favorite social media link in the left sidebar.  Following is not required but is appreciated :-)  Also, don't forget to leave your email address in your comment so I can contact you if you win.  I will give the winner 48 hours to respond to my email before I move on and draw another name.

I hope you enjoyed your visit!

Hop on down the bunny trail to Angela's blog at Midnight Crafting

ooOOoo, love the shine on your plum blossoms, Carol--is that where you used your glimmer mist concoction?

As for favorite SAB set, last week I would have said Bliss--but then I got a delightful card from a friend using Sweet Summer that's making me rethink that. What's yours?

Unknown said...

Hi Holly, Actually the glimmer mist is on the Presto Patterns DSP in the background. The shine on the flowers is from the Stickles. The glimmer on the DSP didn't photograph well, but it's there...lol.

My favorite??...all of them :-)

Thanks for visiting!

I have no idea what a Sale-A-Bration set is. I'm not a big shopper, so I guess I'm missing out. I love your blossom tree. I just got back from visiting Balboa Lake, and saw many beautiful trees like the one on your card. Fabulous!
